A Round Up From Our Trip To The Festival
After 3 years in Norwich, the winter edition of The Great British Beer Festival 2020 took place in its new home at The New Bingley Hall, Birmingham. The festival was particularly special to us this year, as we sponsored the glassware.
Running from 4th-8th February, the festival boasted a selection of over 400 beers, ciders and perries from all across the UK. Blizzard, Old Porter, Ginger and Enville Ale were our additions to the impressive line up.
The huge ale selection was spread across 5 cask bars, a keg bar and individual brewery bars. It may be the “Great British Beer Festival” by name, however the festival catered for all palates, with not only a cider and perry bar, but also a gin and prosecco bar and even mead available to purchase (we sampled a fabulous ginger mead!)
On the Friday night the Enville Team ventured to The New Bingley Hall to find a busy and bustling festival. After a quick tasting of our own favourite winter warmer Blizzard, we began to sample the wide range of beers including Fixed Wheel’s Blackheath Stout – voted Champion Winter Beer of Britain 2020. There was a great atmosphere throughout the evening, with Digbeth Dining Club providing delicious food stalls, and entertainment varying from live music to a retro games station (where our sales co-ordinator Becky showed off her Mario Kart skills!)
We want to thank all of the visitors, volunteers and the GBBF team for a fabulous week at the Great British Beer Festival Winter 2020!
The Winter Festival will return to The New Bingley Hall, Birmingham 9-13th February 2021. Not to worry if that sounds too far away – the Great British Beer Festival will be taking place at Olympia London 4-8th August 2020.
